FinderSA is an online referral and lead-generation platform that connects clients seeking services ("Clients") with independent contractors and service providers ("Service Providers"). FinderSA does not provide services, supervise Service Providers, or enter into service agreements between Clients and Service Providers. Any service agreement is concluded solely between the Client and the Service Provider.

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to operate the Platform and facilitate introductions between Clients and Service Providers.

  • Service request or enquiry details
  • Business details (for Service Providers)
  • Billing and payment-related information (for Service Providers)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

3. Purpose of Processing

  • Facilitating introductions between Clients and Service Providers
  • Sharing Client enquiries with selected Service Providers
  • Enabling Service Providers to contact Clients for quoting purposes
  • Managing user accounts, payments, and billing
  • Communicating platform-related notices and service updates
  • Improving platform functionality and user experience
  • Complying with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations

FinderSA does not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Consent and Lawful Processing

By submitting an enquiry, registering an account, or using the Platform, you:

  • Consent to the collection, processing, and storage of your personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy;
  • Authorise FinderSA to share your enquiry details and contact information with relevant Service Providers;
  • Acknowledge that Service Providers may contact you directly via phone, email, SMS, or other reasonable means in relation to your enquiry.

Service Providers similarly consent to FinderSA processing and displaying their business information for lead-generation, marketing, and platform-related purposes.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limitations. Withdrawal of consent may limit or prevent further use of the Platform.

5. Direct Marketing

FinderSA may send limited marketing or promotional communications related to the Platform and its services.

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. Please note that essential service-related communications (such as account notices or policy updates) may still be sent.

FinderSA does not engage in unsolicited direct marketing in contravention of POPIA or the Consumer Protection Act.

6. Sharing of Personal Information

FinderSA may share personal information only to the extent necessary for platform operation, including:

  • Between Clients and Service Providers for the sole purpose of facilitating service enquiries;
  • With authorised third-party service providers who assist with hosting, payment processing, analytics, communication systems, or technical support;
  • With regulatory or law-enforcement authorities where required by law.

All third parties are required to implement appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards and to comply with POPIA or equivalent legislation.

FinderSA is not responsible for how Service Providers process personal information once lawfully shared with them.

7. Responsibility of Service Providers

Once Client information is shared with a Service Provider, that Service Provider becomes an independent responsible party under POPIA and undertakes to:

  • Use Client information solely to respond to the specific enquiry;
  • Not misuse, sell, or further distribute personal information;
  • Implement appropriate security safeguards;
  • Comply with POPIA and all applicable data-protection laws.

FinderSA shall not be liable for any misuse or unauthorised processing of personal information by Service Providers once lawfully disclosed.

8. Data Security

FinderSA implements reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

While we take data protection seriously, no electronic system is entirely secure, and FinderSA cannot guarantee absolute security of personal information.

9. Data Retention

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

10. Data Subject Rights

In accordance with POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information;
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate, excessive, or unlawfully processed information;
  • Object to the processing of personal information on reasonable grounds;
